Project-Driven Solutions
We don't start with a service. We start with a conversation.
Every client has a different objective, and every project requires a different approach. Rather than forcing a predefined solution, we take the time to understand the challenge, identify the opportunities, and develop a strategy built around the client’s goals.
From there, we coordinate the people, expertise, resources, and industry relationships required to bring the project to life.
Our role is simple: keep everything moving in the same direction.
One Call. One Plan. One Team.
Complex Problems.
Simple Solutions.
Every project is different.
Some clients require an appraisal before making a decision. Others need equipment marketed to buyers across North America, machinery relocated, inventory reduced, operations restructured, or a complete facility transition coordinated from start to finish.
Giving Gavel develops practical solutions built around the client’s objectives, coordinating the people, expertise, resources, and industry relationships required to move projects forward efficiently and effectively.

Why Should I Trust Giving Gavel with a Complex Project?
Because successful projects are built on strong relationships, clear communication, and the right expertise at the right time.
The strength of any project comes down to the people involved. While Giving Gavel is a modern company, the relationships behind it have been built over more than 30 years. Through decades of experience working alongside business owners, contractors, equipment buyers, transportation providers, auctioneers, and industry specialists, we have developed a trusted network of professionals capable of supporting projects of all sizes and complexities.
No single company has every answer. The best outcomes are achieved when experienced people work together toward a common objective.
Our role is simple: bring experience, resources, and relationships together around a common objective.
The right strategy is important. The right team makes it possible.
Different Stakeholders.
Different Priorities.
The same asset can represent opportunity, risk, recovery, financing, inventory, or future growth depending on who is involved and what they need.
A lender may need to understand asset values and recovery potential before extending credit. A trustee may be focused on timelines, valuations, and maximizing recoveries. A business owner may be evaluating growth opportunities, restructuring operations, or preparing assets for sale. Contractors, auction companies, transportation providers, rigging companies, and storage operators each face their own operational challenges and project requirements.
Understanding those differences is critical to developing the right strategy.
Giving Gavel works alongside stakeholders to evaluate assets, identify opportunities, and develop practical solutions that align with their objectives.
- Strategic Asset Acquisitions
- Commission-Based Asset Recovery

- Turnkey Project Execution
The asset may be the same. The strategy rarely is.

From mandate to Delivery
The Challenge
A former electronics manufacturing facility in Ottawa, operating for nearly four decades, required a complete asset recovery and facility transition within a strict 15-day timeline.
Decades of manufacturing equipment, office infrastructure, furniture, inventory, partitions, and facility assets remained in place. Many systems were still connected, equipment weighed multiple tons, and building constraints limited the machinery and removal methods that could be used. Floor protection was critical, large forklifts could not access key areas, and several pieces of equipment required careful disconnection, dismantling, and separation before being moved on heavy-duty industrial skates to prevent damage to the facility.
The project required multiple teams working simultaneously, including equipment removal, office clearing, facility cleanup, transportation logistics, and asset sales. Waste containers were continuously filled, removed, replaced, and filled again while equipment was dismantled and removed through a single loading area. At the same time, office contents, furniture, partitions, and non-saleable materials were being cleared from the building.
Coordination was further complicated by the involvement of multiple stakeholders, each with different objectives, priorities, and timelines. Success depended on careful planning, clear communication, and the ability to keep every moving part aligned from start to finish.
The Result
Within the required timeline, the facility was successfully transitioned from an active manufacturing environment to a clean, market-ready industrial space.
Production areas were cleared, offices were emptied, equipment was removed, floors were cleaned, and the building was prepared for its next chapter. Multiple teams worked simultaneously throughout the project, allowing equipment removal, facility cleanup, asset sales, and site preparation to progress in parallel.
The final stages of the project were completed just minutes before the new owner took possession of the facility.
What began as a complex facility transition concluded with a clean, organized, and lease-ready industrial property ready for future occupancy.
Pictures speak louder than words.

The Inspiration Behind Giving Gavel
Long before Giving Gavel existed, there was Caldwell Family Centre.
For me, Caldwell is more than a community organization. It is part of my family’s story.
My aunt, Sister Lorena Morris, dedicated much of her life to Caldwell Family Centre. Through her work alongside Sister Thérèse Marion, Sister Madeleine Rochon, Maurice Courchesne, and countless volunteers, she helped build an organization that has supported thousands of individuals and families throughout Ottawa.
As a young auctioneer just starting my career in 1997, my aunt asked me to conduct a couple of fundraising auctions for Caldwell. Those events left a lasting impression on me. What amazed me most was that Caldwell never relied on flashy advertising or large marketing budgets. Sister Lorena would simply announce that there was going to be an auction, and people would show up. There were lineups around the building. People came because they believed in the mission. They trusted the people behind it. They knew the organization was making a real difference in the community. For one of the first times in my life, I saw what a true community looked like. I saw people giving their time, energy, resources, and support simply because they believed in helping others. That experience stayed with me.
Years later, when Giving Gavel was created, I carried those lessons forward. Not because we are a charity, but because I learned that relationships matter, trust matters, and people will rally behind something they genuinely believe in.
Those early experiences at Caldwell helped shape my understanding of service, community, and the impact a group of committed people can have when they come together around a common purpose.
Scotty Morris remains available to serve as auctioneer for registered charity events.
